Tree of Fire Projections

TREE OF FIRE is a play about a Magnolia tree catching fire in an aged and ominous women’s prison. Three female inmates, forgotten and left to perish, are jolted into memories of their past that inform the truth of their souls and the urgent need to expose the inhumanity of the prison to the world.

Lyn Gaza created projections for the world premiere run of Tree of Fire in March 2013 at Inner-City ArtsRosenthal Theater in Los Angeles, CA. Illustrations were created by Brandon Hunter Harrison.

Tree of Fire was written and directed by Jesse Bliss and was produced by The Roots and Wings Project and Quality Collective. The world premiere cast featured Romi Dias, Miriam F. Glover, Julanne Chidi Hill, Lizzie Peet and Hansford Prince. Original music by Jesse Bliss, Fanny Franklin and Geoff (GG) Gallegos. Sound Design by Martín Carrillo. Special thanks to Joe Bree for running the board, Beth Baird for stage management and Tyler Pulley for acting in the above video as Maya’s son.
